W!SE Financial Literacy: The Financial Literacy Certification program is a groundbreaking innovation in financial education for high school students. The goal of the program is simple—to help high school students graduate as financially capable young adults. Participating high schools teach a course or unit on personal finance and then administer our national, standardized Financial Literacy Certification Test.
GSHS has earned the designation of "Blue Star School" by W!SE for the outstanding number of students successfully passing the exam. NGPF: NGPF is a free high-school personal finance curriculum and professional development partner helping teachers deliver essential money understanding in an easy-to-grasp, engaging way.
GSHS Financial Literacy teacher Jill Wilson was awarded an NGPF Fellowship in 2017. Since that time she has become a "Fin Fanatic" advocating for all high school students to have access to a stand-alone personal finance course. She travels with NGPF to conduct Fin Camps in Colorado as well as other states. MoneyWi$er Awards: The MoneyWi$er Financial Innovation Awards were presented by the Office of the Colorado Attorney General in partnership with the Colorado Department of Education. The awards recognized distinguished school districts, schools and individuals which have demonstrated a priority in personal finance education throughout their school and community.

Colorado Jump$tart Coalition: The Colorado Jump$tart Coalition is a nonprofit organization with nearly 20 organizations and individuals representing business, nonprofits, government and education throughout the state of Colorado. We have joined together to improve the personal financial literacy of Colorado youth.
Jill Wilson serves on the Colorado Jump$tart Coalition as a representative of Next Gen Personal Finance. Economic Literacy Colorado: Empowering Colorado’s youth to achieve a lifetime of economic understanding and financial freedom by providing economic and personal financial education to students through professional development and classroom resources delivered to teachers, schools and school districts.
Students in GSHS's Financial Literacy classes continue to benefit from Economic Literacy Colorado, one of the main contributors to Jill Wilson's personal understanding of a broad range of financial literacy topics. She has also served as a teacher mentor at several Economic Literacy Colorado teacher workshops. |
