In the fall of 1991, Jill Wilson started her teaching career at Glenwood Springs High School as a Family and Consumer Education Teacher. Seven years later, she earned her Master's Degree in Special Education. While teaching students with special needs, Jill also taught an ACE (Alternative Cooperation Education) program for students at risk of dropping out of high school. The ACE program guided students through career development, work-based learning, and independent living skills. In time, the course was split into two semesters courses and admitted all students interested in career planning and financial literacy. With increasing enrollment every year, Financial Literacy has become the primary subject Jill teaches. The majority of GSHS graduates have taken Financial Literacy, increasing their real life chances. To understand the importance of Financial Literacy Education, click on the link below. |
